Your Project Page

Each project will need to have the following developed:

  1. Project description - short, to the point, strong call to action and dates for contributions. Keep it 250 - 300 words and at or below an 8th grade reading level. Run your content through https://readable.com/ to get an idea of the reading level.
  2. Widgets selected and content developed for the right side of the page.
  3. Engagement tools selected and content developed. See Quick Poll, Guest Book, Q & A, Places, Ideas, Newsfeed, Forums, Stories, and Surveys
  4. Participation level selected - assessed based on the risk of the project,

  5. Project image - this needs to be an interesting and engaging image that relates to the project content, ideally without text

What we want in the Project Description:

  • Why are we engaging - help participants understand the most important information first
  • Who does this affect, - think about who you are reaching out to and what matters to them, how the project will affect them, what they need to know to participate - this help you know what is needed in your description or introduction
  • What is this about
  • 250 - 300 words\
  • Grade 8 -10 level language
  • Make use of widgets on the right to add additional information so that the description is not too overwhelming)
  • use readable to vet your copy(External link)
  • NO JARGON!
  • All Images with Alternative Text for Blind or Visually Impaired
  • Videos with Subtitles for Deaf or Hearing Impaired
